Part of Invincible-class battle cruisers, preceded by Minotaur-class armored cruisers, succeeded by HMS Indefatigable-class. Laid down by Armstrong Whitworth, Elswick, England on 2 April 1906, launched on 13 April 1907, commissioned on 20 March 1909 and sunk in the battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916.
