Part of Nassau-class, preceded by Deutschland-class, succeeded by Helgoland-class, laid down by AG Weser, Bremen, Germany with yard number 163 on 12 August 1907, launched on 1 July 1908, commissioned on 16 November 1909, decommmissioned on 5 November 1919, ceded to the Allies under the contract name “D” to replace the ships scuttled at Scapa Flow, Orkney Islands, Scotland on 5 August 1924 and broken up in England by 1924.
