An item reported that at Port Arthur, China were lying and combat ready the Russian battleships Retvisan [Retvizan], Pobieda [Pobeda], Sebastopol [Sevastopol], Poltawa and Peresviet [Peresvet]. Within some days was probably also the Cesarawith again available. The Japanese lost the battleships Hatsuse, Yashima and Sjikishima. Being repaired were the battleship Fuki and the cruisers Asama, Iwate, Yokumo, Adzuma and Kasuga. Combat ready were the battleships Asahi and Mikasa and the cruisers Tokiwa, Idzumo and Nishin. De totals did not include the small cruisers at both sides.(1)
