Part of Victoria Louise-class protected cruisers preceded by Kaiserin Augusta succeeded by Fürst Bismarck. Building ordered under contract name ‘L’.Laid down by AG Weser, Bremen, Germany on 9 April 1896, launched on 29 March 1897, commissioned on 20 February 1899, stricken on 1 October 1919, converted into a cargo ship in 1920, renamed Flora Sommerfeld and broken up in 1923.
