Ordered under contract name Ersatz KönigWilhelm, laid down at the Germaniawerft, Kiel, Germany on 22 January 1898, launched on 1 June 1899, commissioned on 5 May 1901, stricken on 6 December 1919 and sold to be broken up in 1902.
