Japanese-Italian tuna fishing venture on short notice operational according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated August-September 1967 No. 8-9

An item reported that begin July a joint Japanese-Italian tuna fishing venture involving Hoko Suisan Fishing Company was to start operating. The originally start was planned in 1964 but delayed by Italian efforts to built the ship in Italy. At the moment was 1-1,150 gross tons tuna mothership under construction and to be completed in July en within short time operational. Production aim 2,000 metric tons tuna annually all to be sold to Italian packers.
