Japanese cargo ship (ex-Times 1906-1925, ex-Times Maru 1925-1930) Taikyu Maru 1930-1945

Call sign JCYB. Built by J. Priestman&Co., Sunderland, England in May 1906 and sunk by a mine in the entrance to the Kammon channel on 16 June 1944, served as an army transport. Norway-flagged 1906-1925. Gross tonnage 2,105 tons, under deck 1,966 tons, net tonnage 1,304 tons, deadweight 3,580 tons and as dimensions 290.0 x 42.2 x 20.4 x 7.8 (light)-18.10 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 256 nhp, coal bunker capacity 464 tons, range 4,900 miles/8,5 knots. Speed 8.5 (normal cruising)-10 (maximum) knots.
