Japanese cargo ship (ex-Werribes 1909-1931, Hwa Shan 1931-1931, Huashan 1933-1938, Granatiere Padula 1938-1941) Haryu Maru 1941-1943

Laid down by Blyth Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Blyth, England in 1909, launched in January 1909. As Werribes Australia-flagged, homeport Melbourne, as Hwa Shan China-flagged, purchased by the Japanese government and renamed Hary Maru, call sign JWQQ in December 1941 and collided on 1 September 1943, following day run aground and became total loss. As Ganatiere Padula Italy-flagged, homeport Shanghai, China, owner Cia Italaiana Nav. S.A.T. Gross tonnage 3,904 tons, under deck 3,590 tons, net tonnage 2,364 tons, deadweight 6,100 tons and as dimensions 354.8 x 50.7 x 23.7 x 22 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 327 nhp, 1 screw and speed 9 (normal cruising)-11 (maximum) knots.
