Japanese cargo ship Tamei Maru 1936-1943

Call sign JJBK. Completed by Mitsubishi Jukogyo K.K., Yokohama, Japan in July 1936 and sunk by an Allied air attack during the Battle of the Bismarck Sea on 3 March 1943 on the position 07.15 south and 148.30 east serving as an army transport. Gross tonnage 2,883 tons, net tonnage 1,450 tons, deadweight 4,111 tons and as dimensions 362.2 x 44.2 x 24.0 x 8 (light)-20 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 284 nhp, single screw, coal bunker capacity 370 tons, range 4,500 miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-12 (maximum) knots.
