Built as the Russian tug Sylatch by Motala Mekamiska Verksteds Aktiebologet in 1890, sunk at Port Arthur on 1 January 1905, salvaged by Japanese in October 1905, commissioned as salvage tug Shirachi, renamed Yodobashi, renamed Yodobashi on 25 March 1909, refitted in 1939, captured in August 1945 and again active in the merchant shipping. Dimensions 159 (waterline)-165 (over all) x 27.7 x 15.8 x 12.5-12.6 (maximum) feet, gross tonnage 518,912 (870 tons?), net tonnage 458.640 and 800 tons displacement. Horsepower 720 hp and speed 11 knots. One reciprocating engine and boilers, 718 ihp, coal fueled.
