Modified C3-S-A1 type. Part of the Bogue-class escort carriers, in British service part of Ruler-class escort carriers. As escort carier displacement 7,800 tons and as dimensions 151.08 (over all) x 21.18 x 7.9 metres or 495.8 x 69.6 x 26 feet. Could carry 28 aircraft with her. AVG-54 later ACV-54. Laid down by the Seattle-Tacoma Shipbuilding Corporation, Seattle, Washington on 5 June 1943, assigned to the United Kingdom under lend-lease in 1943, reclassified as CVE-54 on 15 July 1943, launched on 22 November 1943, transferred to the British Royal Navy on 18 February 1944, arrived back in the USA on 13 May 1946, decommissioned on 20 June 1946, authorized for disposal on 14 June 1946, stricken on 8 July 1946, sold to the Waterman Steamship Company, Mobile, Alabama, USA on 12 February 1947, converted into a cargo ship and renamed South Africa Star and broken up at Japan in May 1967.
