British nef from Winchelsea around 1250

Maritime Museum Hamburg, Germany

Nefs were similar to the cogs except that the sterns of nefs were rounded. Big-bellied and clinker-built. Since the 11th Century built along the French west coast. A mix between Norman ships and portier types of vessels from the Mediterranean.
