An item reported that at least 3 enemy submarines followed an eastbound Trans-Atlantic convoy of which on 5 August (summary no. 239) one ship was sunk. On 6 August rammed an escorting Canadian destroyer one enemy submarine sinking it of which crew members were saved and taken prisoner.
