Japanese cargo ship Asakaze Maru 1937-1944

Call sign JPAM. Laid down by by Osaka Iron Works Ld., Innoshima on 24 December 1937, launched on 10 September 1938, completed on 28 November 1938, requisitioned by the navy on 16 December 1940, converted between 22 December 1940-16 January 1941 into an auxiliary collier-oiler, sunk in an Allied air attack on the Marshall Islands on 4 December 1943 and stricken on 15 February 1944. Gross tonnage 6,517 tons, net tonnage 3,880 tons and as dimensions 424.1 x 57.4 x 34.4 x 9.6 (light)-27.6 loaded) feet. Steam turbine propulsion, 517 nhp and range 10,000 nautical miles/cruising speed (>12 knots).
