Laid down by Asaki Shipbuilding Co., Osaka, Japan in end 1917, launched in 1918, requisitioned by the Japanese navy on 14 March 1941, returned to owners 21 May 1941, requisitioned by the Japanese army to be used as troop transport on 25 September 1943 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Cod (SS-244) west of Halmahera on 27 February 1944. Gross tonnage 2,473 tons, under deck 2,057 tons, net tonnage 1,731 tons, deadweight 3,775 tons and as dimensions 281.0 x 41.0 x 24.5 x 6.5 (light)-20.6 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 175 nhp, coal bunker capacity 419 tons, range 6,000 nautical miles/9.5 knots and speed 9.5 (normal cruising)-10.5 (maximum) knots.
