Japanese passenger-cargo ship Tokiwa Maru 1915-1943

Call sign JYWD. Laid down by Mitsubishi Dockyard&Engineering Works, Nagasaki on 25 February 1915, launched on 1 January 1916, completed on 12 August 1916, requisitioned by army as troop transport/cargo ship AA No. 156 on 22 July 1941 and sunk an torpedoed by American submarine UUS Gunnel (SS-253) on in the East China Sea on 19 June 1943. Gross tonnage 6,972 tons, under deck 6,469 tons, net tonnage 4,281 tons and dimensions 445.0 x 58.0 x 34.0 x 9 (light)-27 (loaded) feet. 922 Nhp Steam turbine. Fitted out for deep tanks for carrying oil in bulk.
