Japanese passenger-cargo ship Toyama Maru 1913-1944

Call sign JTXD. Laid down by by Mitsubishi Dockyard&Engineering Works, Nagasaki on 4 August 1913, launched on 20 March 1915, delivered on 3 June 1915, requsitioned on 29 January 1941 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Sturgeon (SS-187) underway to Okinawa serving as a troop transport on 29 June 1944. Gross tonnage 7,090 tons, under deck 6,574 tons, net tonnage 4,386 tons and dimensions 445.0 x 58.0 x 34.0 x 9 (light)-27 (loaded) feet. 922 Nhp Steam turbine. Fitted out for deep tanks for carrying oil in bulk.
