Built under the 1897-1898 construction programme as a “30-knotter” destroyer. B-class torpedo boat destroyer preceded by A-class “27-Knotters” preceded by River of F-class. Laid down by Laird, Son&Co., Birkenhead using a modified Earnest-class design based on a Laird’s Quail-class design on 9 November 1897, launched on 29 September 1898, completed in January 1900, sold to be broken up on 1 July 1920 and done in October 1922.
