The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1898-1899 reported that the German cruiser 3rd class SMS Möwe visited Ternate en Ambon, Dutch East Indies in March 1899.(1)

1. Launched by Schichau-Werke, Elbing on 13 May 1879, commissioned on 31 May 1880, stricken on 9 December 1906 and sold in 1910.
