Japanese cargo ship (ex-Hiyeizan Maru 1919-1933, Shinyu Maru 1933-1938) Sinyu Maru 1938-1944

Call sign JNQD. Built by Uraga Dock Co. Ltd., Uraga, Japan in February 1919 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Redfin (SS-272) on 15 April 1944. Gross tonnage 4,622 tons, under deck 3,927 tons, net tonnage 3,307 tons and as dimensions 360.0 x 51/2 x 25.4 x 8 (light)-23 (loaded feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, 358 nhp, coal bunker capacity 1,700 tons, and a range of 15,000 nautical miles/10 knots.
