Ld., Tama, Japan on 7 March 1939, launched on 27 October 1939, completed on 24 June 1940, requisitioned by the navy as transport on 12 September 1941, conversion into an auxiliary transport ended on 27 September 1941, torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS-38 on 8 August 1942 and stricken on 25 August 1942. Gross tonnage 5,700 tons and as dimensions 403.5 x 55.1 x 30.8 x 10 (light)-25 (loaded) feet. Coal fuelled, speed 12 (normal cruising)-15 (maximum) and range 6,300 nautical miles/12 knots.
