Japanese cargo ship(ex-Shoan Maru 1937-1938) Syoan Maru 1938-1944

Call sign JYOL. Laid down by Tama Zosensho K.K., Tama, Japan on 10 July 1937, launched on 21 October 1937, completed on 30 November 1937, converted into an auxiliary transported between 5 September-14 October 1941, requisitioned by the navy on 12 September 1941, sunk after an air attack on 23 Feburary 1944 and stricken on 30 May 1944. Gross tonnage 5,624 tons, net tonnage 3,332 tons and as dimensions 406.8 x 55.1 x 30.8 x 10 (light)-25 (loaded) feet. Coal fuelled, speed 12 (normal cruising)-15 (maximum) and range 6,300 nautical miles/12 knots.
