Japanese passenger-cargo ship Muko Maru 1937-1943

Call sign JTUL. Built by Osaka Iron Works Ld., Osaka, Japan in 1937, requisitioned by the navy as auxiliary transport in December 1940 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Thresher (SS-200) of the Truk Atoll on 12 November 1943. Gross register tonnage 4,862 tons, net tonnage, deadweight 6,983 tons and as dimensions  369.8 x 54.1 x 29.2 x 8 (light) 24 (loaded) feet. Horsepower 379 nhp, coal bunker capacity 782 ton, range 6,600 nautical miles/13 knots and speed 12 (normal cruising)-15 (maximum) knots.
