Of the Java-class preceded by Holland-class succeeded by De Ruyter. Laid down by Kon. Mij. De Schelde, Vlissingen, Netherlands on 31 May 1916, launched on 6 August 1921, commissioned on 1 May 1925 and sunk in the Battle of the Java Sea against the Japanese navy on 27 February 1942.
