Argentine merchant ship torpedoed off Bermuda according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 19 April 1942

An item reported that an Argentine merchant ship was torpedoed by an enemy submarine probably German in the vicinity of Bermuda. Her crew went from board after sending a SOS. Allied ships found the ship still drifting remanned her and under own power she was underway to a safe harbour. The original crew disappeared.
