British ironclad battleship HMS Temeraire 1873-1921

Laid down by Chatham Dockyard, England on 18 August 1873, launched on 9 May 1876, completed on 31 August 1877, renamed Indus II in 1904, renamed Akbar in 1915 and broken up in the Netherlands on 26 May 1921. The Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 5 July 1921 reported the arrival of the Dutch tug humber on the day before at Invergordon to pick up the Akbar. She was bought by the scrapyard Frank Rijsdijk’s Scheepsslooperij, Hendrik Ido Ambacht, Netherlands and to be towed to Rotterdam, Netherlands.
