An item reported that an enemy submarine seemed to be succesfully attacked with gunfire by an Allied destroyer northeast of Cape Hatteras before daylight on 14 April. Later that day attacked a trawler using depth charges an enemy submarine southeast of Cape Lookout at least damaging the submarine. In that area had the enemy submarines been very active. Also managed a merchant vessel to score a direct hit on an enemy submarine off the east coast of Florida, USA.
