Allied merchant ships seeking refugee in Malay-Dutch East Indies harbours according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 23 December 1941

An item referred to the CINCAF reporting that since 10 December 14 US and Philippine deep sea merchant ships and 26 allied ships went to Malay-Dutch East Indies harbours waiting for further orders. All seemed to be safe. Of 2-3 ships was the departure doubtful.
