The German embassy at Tokyo, Japan wrote on 28 October 1935 to the Chef der Marineleitung at Berlin referring to the Japanese monthly magazine Yushu that the auxiliary river gunboat Risei, part of the riverine flotilla, built in 1907, tonnage 362 tons, speed 7.6 miles, flatt-bottomed and an armament of (anti aircraft) guns, machineguns, search lights and wireless devices.
