Launched by Swan, Hunter&Wigham Richardson Ld., Newcastle, England with yard number 1301 on 2 March 1927, delivered on 28 July 1927 to the Nederlands Indische Tankstoomvaart Maatschappij, The Hague, Netherlands, abandoned by her crew at 15:00 o’clock on 1 March 19942 in the Java Sea underway from Tandjong Priok, Dutch East Indies to Fremantle, Australia when the Japanese destroyer Harukaze (1) arrived on the scene killing finally 40 of her crew members. The Augustine sunk on 4 March. Gross tonnage 3,110 tons, under deck 2,277 tons, netto tonnage 1,626 tons, deadweight 3,900 tons and as dimensions 305.1 x 50.2 x 19.3 x x 17.7(loaded) feet. Diesel propulsion, two screws, horsepower 379 nhp, oil bunker capacity 212 tons. Trunk-decked. Carried oil in bulk.

Laid down as Destroyer No. 5 by Maizuru Naval Arsenal on 16 May 1922, launched on 18 December 1922, complete on 31 May 1923, renamed Harukaze on 1 August 1928, involved in the attack on HMAS Perth and USS Houston in the Battle of Sunda Strait on 1 March 1941, stricken on 10 November 1945 and scuttled in 1947 as part of the breakwaterat Takeno Part.
