Dutch cargo ship ss Enggano 1920-1942

Call sign PDYF. Launched by Sunderland Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Sunderland, England with yard number 315 on 22 Feburary 1922, delivered to the N.V. Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland, Amsterdam, Netherlands on 29 April 1920, left Tjilatjap, Dutch East Indies probably for Fremantle, Australia in the evening of 27 Feburary 1942, attacked and set on fire by a plane of the Japanese cruiser Takao on 1 March 1942 and the next day sunk by gunfire of the Japanese cruiser Chikuma and destroyer Urakaze (Kagerō-class). Gross tonnage 5,412 tons, under deck 4,899 tons, netto tonnage 3,187 tons, deadweight 8,886 tons, grain capacity 501.000 cubic feet, bale capacity 457.000 cubic feet and as dimensions 425.0 x 55.0 x 26.6 feet.
