Japanese 8,000-9,000 tons cruisers under construction in 1942

An item reported that there were no new details available with the building of 5 8,000-9,000 tons Japanese cruisers and their names could be attached to ships of other types. It became doubtfull if the building was real while the reports were connected with the [non-existing] battleships and three seagoing training ships Kasima, Katori and Kashii to be used for minelaying.
