An item reported that the cargo ship ss Absaroka of McCormick was badly damaged in an attack off the southern California coasts and now under tow to a safe harbour.(1)

Laid down by Skinner&Eddy, Seattle with yard number 15 on 4 September 1917, launched on 22 December 1917, completed on 12 February 1918, delivered to the USSB (official number 215986, renamed Prima Vista in 1946, Panenterprise in 1948, Maryland in 1952 and broken up in 1954. Commissioned in US Navy between 17 September 1918-4 March 1919.
