Armoured cruiser design of British captain Bernard Ackworth published in 1935

Displacement about 11,200 (standard)-12,000 (/12 fuel) tons and as dimensions 480.0 (between perpendiculars) x 66.0 (extreme) x 36.0 (depth to upper deck) x 23.0 (draught) feet. Speed 23.5 knots. Horsepower 25,000 tons. Fitted out with 12 coal fired Yarrow boilers. Coal bunker capacity 1,500 ton. Range 5,500 nautical miles. Armour consisted of main belt and barbettes with a thickness of 20.32cm/8” and a 7.62cm/3” armoured deck. Weight armour 2,750 tons. Armament 3x2-9.2” guns, 4x1-4.7”high angle guns and 4-3pd salut guns. Ackworth (3 February 1885-16 February 1963) was an English submariner, writer, evangelical Christian and creationist.
