Displacement about 3,630 (standard)-4,100 (1/2 fuel) tons and as dimensions 415.0 (between perpendiculars) x 47.0 (extreme) x 24.0 (depth to upper deck) x 14.0 (draught) feet. Armament 6x1-15.24cm/6” guns, 2-7.62cm/3” high angle guns and 4-3pd salut guns. Horsepower 27,000 hp. Fitted out with 10 coal fired Yarrow boilers. Speed 900 ton coal. Range 6,000 nautical miles. Ackworth (3 February 1885-16 February 1963) was an English submariner, writer, evangelical Christian and creationist.
