Characteristics of British cruiser HMS Galatea as reported to the German Marineattaché at London on 16 September 1935

An item reported that the German Marineattaché captain Erwin Wassner at London was informed by the British Admiralty conform the Anglo-German Naval Agreement dated 18 June 1935 that the cruiser HMS Galatea was laid down on 2 June 1933 with a standard displacement (article 6 Treaty) of 5,220 tons/5,301 metric tons and dimensions 500 (waterline) x 51 (extreme beam at or below waterline) x 13.10 (mean draught at standard displacement) feet. Heaviest calibre 6”. Completed on 14 August 1935.(1)
