Portuguese fishery protection vessel Azevia commissioned in 1942

In his letter dated Lisbon dated 21 November 1942 No. 2059 to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine wrote the German Marineattaché Portugal that he was informed that the Portuguese navy commissioned on 3 October 1942 the fishery protection vessel Azevia. Dimensions 41,00 (between perpemdiculars)-42,64 (over all) x 6,50 (maximum) x 4,00 (depth amidships)-5,37 (depth fore) x 2,21 (average) metres and standard displacement 249,60 tons. Propulsion consisted of 2x1,200 hp MAN engines. Maximum speed 18 knots and range 10/knots/3,900 nautical miles. Armament of 1-4.7cm gun and 2-7.9mm Dryse machine guns. Crew consisted of 1 commanding offiwer with the rank of of capitan lieutenant or lieutenant 1st class, 3 petty officers and 19 sailors.
