Laid down by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, San Francisco, California, USA on 24 March 1936, launched on 14 February 1938, commissioned on 5 August 1938, decommissioned on 19 October 1945, stricken on 1 November 1945 and sold to be broken up on 13 June 1946.
