An item reported that the American whaler Superior of New London mater Wm. Babcock wrecked in a thick fog on a low sand island at the head of the Anadir Sea 65.25 north latitude 178 west longitude from Greenwich on 11 July. Loaded with 550 barrels oil, crew saved and on 21 July embarked of the North Star of New London excluded the 3rd office rand 4 sailors who went on board of the California of New Bedford. On the 5th day broke the ship in parts mostly washed to the sea. Elsewhere is mentioned that her master arrived at Honolulu on board of the American whaler Black Eagle.
