British HMS seaplane depot ship Engadine 1940-1946 (Clan Buchanan 1946-1962)

Owner Clan Line Steamers Ltd., London England. Part of a sub-class of the Cameron-class ships with identical dimensions numbering 11 ships consisting of Clan Forbes, Clan Buchanan, Clan Cameron, Clan Campbell, Clan Chattan, Clan Cumming, Clan Ferguson, Clan Fraser, Clan Lamont, Clan Menzies, and HMS Engadine, the latter was to be named Clan Buchanan. Ordered and to be named Clan Buchanan. Laid down by Greenock Dockyard Co., River Clyde, Greenock, Scotland on 16 March 1940, launched on 26 May 1941, requisitioned by the British Royal Navy, completed on 17 November 1941, loaned to the US Navy between November 1942-July 1943, handed over to the Clan Line in 1946, renamed Clan Buchanan and broken up at Cartagena, Spain in November 1962.
