Part of Arethusa-class preceded by Leander-class succeeded by Dido- and Town-classses. Six were planned but just 4 completed and 2 cancelled. The cancelled Minotaur and Polyphemus were later ordered as part of the Town-class. Pennant 97. Laid down by Harland&Wolff, Belfast, Northern Ireland with yard number 940 on 30 May 1934, launched on 15 October 1935, completed on 15 November 1936 and torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-410 underway from Naples, Italy to the Anzio area on 18 February 1944.
