Portuguese steamship Gil Eane returned home from the bacalhau fishery in October 1942

In his letter No. 1932 dated 26 October 1942 referred the German naval attaché in Portugal to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine at Berlin to the newspaper Primeiro de Janeiro, Porto dated 20 October 1942 reporting that the Portuguese steamship Gil Eanes supporting the bacalhau fishery entered a harbour at Greenland for loading stockfish, departed form there on 9 October arriving on 22 October at Leixões.
