American whaling fleet arrived at Honolulu, Hawaii according to the The Friend dated 1 December 1869

An item reported that in the first half of November the whaling fleet arrived at Hawaii returning from the Arctic and Ochotsk, the major part later than was usual for many years. Excluded some ships had been the whaling very successful despite the unusually cold and severe weather conditions in the north.
