Laid down by Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock C0., Newark, New Jersey, USA on 17 May 1943, launched on 5 September 1943, commissioned as USS McAnn DE-179 on 11 October 1943, decommissioned on 15 August 1944, leased to Brazil on 15 August 1944, stricken by US Navy on 20 July 1953 and decommisioned in 1982. Part of Cannon-class destroyer escorts preceded by Buckley-class succeeded by Edall-class.
