British 45.72cm/18” Torpedo RN Mk 15 1920-1930

Used on board of the H-class submarines Guacolda, Tegualda, Rucumilla, Quidora, Fresia and Guale. British H-class was preceded by British E-class and Canadian CC-class and succeeded by British J-class, Chilean Capitan O’Brien-class and Canadian/Chilean Balao-class. The Fore River Yard, Quincy, Massachusett, USA built a number of these boats which were seized by the US governement while the USA was neutral. The British government handed 6 boats over to Chile as partially compensation for the battleships Almirante Latorre and Almirante Cochrane which were taken into British service in 1914. The involved were the in 1918 launched H13 and 16-20.
