An item referred to a low grade report reporting that the Communist Chinese cruiser Chungking (ex-Aurora) which arived at Dairen in 1953 after she was refloated, departed in March 1954 under own steam. Recently investigations confirmed the report that the ship was no longer at Dairen. She was apparently at least sufficiently repaired to move under own steam although it was strange that her position was unknown. There was a possibility that she was broken up.(1)
