Japan ordered building of four extra destroyers according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated 1 February 1956

An item reported that above the ships already mentioned to be built under the Japanese 1953-1954 Budget decided was to order another 4-1,600 tons destroyers of the Yukikaze/Harukaze type with the contracts already been let.
