Part of Fargo-class preceded by Cleveland-class succeeded by Worcester-class. Laid down by New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey, USA on 23 August 1943, launched on 25 February 1945, commissioned on 9 December 1945, decommissioned on 14 February 1950, stricken on 1 March 1970 and sold to be broken up on 18 August 1971. Armament 4x2-6” cal 47 dual purpose guns, 8x4-4cm guns and 20x2cm anti aircraft guns. Displacement 14,800 (trial)-12,500 (standard) tons and as dimensions 640 x 67.5 (molded) x 22.5 (trial draught) feet. Armored freeboard 4.25 feet.Navy Department. Bureau of Ships.
