Laid down by the Electric Boat Company, Groton, Connecticut, USA on 16 March 1944, launched by Miss Mary Jane Jacobs on 25 February 1945, commissioned on 28 June 1945, Guppy III conversion in 1962, decommissioned on 12 June 1975, stricken on 27 June 1975, museum ship at the Patriot’s Point Naval Maritime, Museum, Charleston, South Carolina, USA between 1979-2022, with sail and superstructure removed was she towed to Norfolk, Virginia, USA to be broken up on 15 October 2022.
