Part of Tribal-class or Afridi-class (32 planned 27 completed 5 cancelled) preceded by I-class succeeded by J-class. Design based on the so-called Design V small fleet cruiser, which design was also used for the Dido-class light cruisers. Laid down by Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company, Australia on 15 November 1939, launched on 30 November/1 December 1940, commissioned on 30 March 1942, modernized between 1949-1952and reclassified as anti-submarine destroyer, decommissioned on 21 December 1956, sold to be broken up in 1968 sunk while under tow in 1969.
